Who is Ball Dermpath, and why am I receiving a bill from you?

Your referring physician (i.e., dermatologist, primary care physician, etc.) removed a specimen during your visit and sent the specimen(s) to Ball Dermpath for pathology examination. This bill is for the services performed in our lab.

Does Ball Dermpath bill my insurance directly?

Yes, if insurance is provided to Ball Dermpath by the referring physician office, a claim is filed on your behalf. If your bill does not indicate that your insurance was filed, please contact our office @ 336.609.6240 or 855.246.4311 with correct insurance information.

Why did my insurance plan not pay the entire amount billed?

Coverage varies depending on the policy. Some insurance carriers may apply a portion to the deductible or co-insurance. For questions regarding your policy, please contact your insurance company.

 I paid a co-pay in the office. Why is it not reflected on my   statement?

The co-pay collected by your referring physician is for services rendered at their facility. Pathology services performed by Ball Dermpath are billed separately.
